The Prosecutor Center for Excellence identifies in their mission statement a desire to assist prosecutors in creating a fair and equitable criminal justice system and in particular works to aid the modern prosecutor office in keeping abreast of rapid changes within the system. The Best Practices Committee of the PCE, has been reviewing and sharing information about the use of data in the modern prosecution office. The Karpel Foundation has fostered its own data related projects and with that common interest provided PCE with awards totaling over $60,000 to bring together folks from all over the country to discuss and make recommendations about the gathering and use of data from prosecutors.
